The Camperdown Botanic Gardens and Arboretum Trust was established in 2014 by …
It was formed by a local interested group seeking to restore the gardens from it’s neglected state and promote the restoration of the Arboretum which until 2022 was used for grazing cattle and it still houses a Caravan Park. The Trust is working to impove the amenity of the site and the build on the historic legacy by protecting the many legacy tress and adding to the collection of important trees in the Arboretum.
Objects
- To support the Corangamite Shire and its staff to better manage, maintain, monitor and develop the Camperdown Botanic Gardens and Arboretum as one of Victoria’s historic regional botanic gardens
- To do all manner of things to foster understanding, appreciation and valuing of the Camperdown Botanic Gardens and Arboretum
- To raise friends and supporters of the Camperdown Botanic Gardens and Arboretum
- To assemble and contribute human, social, economic and knowledge resources to the conservation and development of the Camperdown Botanic Gardens and Arboretum, and
- To contribute a community perspective to consideration of issues relating to the Camperdown Botanic Gardens and Arboretum site.
